过去有关 EOS R 系统（官方未发表暂称）传闻都是引述消息来源，而此次日本博客 Nokishita 就更转载了一个标明有官方标志、标记有“EOS R”的疑似传媒新闻稿文件，内含详细 Canon EOS R 全片幅镜头的规格。目前未有人能确认这份 PDF 文件的真伪。而根据消息，有关发布会会在今个星期内举行。
